Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel is a generic name given to the group of corrosion and heat resisting steels. These are ironbase alloys containing Chromium as the main alloying element with a minimum of 10.5% to make itresistant to staining and rusting scaling in most of the corrosive enviroment. The complete range of Stainless Steel can be Classified into 3 major categories viz. Austenitic, Ferritic and Martensitic.

Austenitic:

This category of stainless steel contains 16 to 26% Chromium and 6 to 22% of Nickel. They are non magnetic and have excellent corrosion resistance. They are not hardenable by heat treatment. However, they can develop high strength on cold workding . They are identified in the aisi 300 series.

Ferritic:

This category contains 12 to 30% Chromium without any Nickel. They are ferro-magnetic in nature and generally not hardenable by heat treatment. They are indentified in the AISI 400 series.

Martensitic:

This category contains 11 to 14% Chromium without any Nickel. They are ferro-magnetic in nature and are hardenable by heat treatment. They are also indentified in the AISI 400 series.

Product Range :

Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Sheets and coils of different grades confirming to AISI specifications are manufactured .
